Air Fryer Apple Pies
Ingredients:
For the Filling:
2 large apples, peeled, cored, and chopped
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
For the Pie Crusts:
1 package refrigerated pie crusts (contains 2 crusts)
Additional:
1 egg, beaten
1 tablespoon water
Granulated sugar for sprinkling
Instructions:
Prepare the Filling:
In a medium bowl, combine the chopped apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and flour. Stir until the apples are well coated.
Prepare the Pie Crusts:
Roll out the refrigerated pie crusts on a lightly floured surface. Using a 4-inch round cutter, cut out circles from the pie crust. You should get about 12 circles from two crusts.
Assemble the Pies:
Place about 1 tablespoon of the apple mixture onto the center of each pie crust circle. Fold the dough over the filling to create a half-moon shape. Press the edges together to seal, then crimp with a fork.
Prepare for Air Frying:
In a small bowl, beat together the egg and water to make an egg wash. Brush the tops of the pies with the egg wash and sprinkle with granulated sugar.
