Brown Sugar Ham Glaze
1.Combine Ingredients: In a small saucepan, mix the brown sugar, honey (or maple syrup), orange juice, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, cinnamon, cloves (if using), and salt. Stir until well combined.
2.Simmer: Place the saucepan over medium heat. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, stirring occasionally, until the sugar has dissolved and the glaze has thickened slightly (about 5-7 minutes).
3.Prepare the Ham: Score the surface of the ham in a diamond pattern and place it in a roasting pan.
4.Apply the Glaze: Brush a generous layer of the glaze over the ham. Cover with foil and bake according to your ham’s cooking instructions.
5.Reapply During Cooking: Every 20-30 minutes, uncover the ham and baste it with more glaze to build layers of flavor and a glossy finish.
