Varicose veins are a common problem in which abnormally enlarged veins appear near the surface of the skin. They usually occur in the calves and thighs when the veins expand.
Varicose veins affect approximately 25 percent of women and 10 percent of men.
Varicose veins can cause pain, fatigue, restlessness, throbbing burning feelings, tingling, or heaviness in the legs. The appearance of swelling of the veins is also a matter of concern for many people.
Medical and surgical treatments for varicose veins can be very expensive. You can try remedies to lessen the severity of varicose veins as well as reduce the discomfort they can cause.
1 – CIDER VINEGAR
Even if no scientific study confirms the medicinal virtues of cider vinegar on varicose veins, it is a natural remedy widely used to relieve swelling and the sensations of heaviness associated with varicose veins.
For external use, soak a cloth with cider vinegar then apply to varicose veins (30 minutes per day) while raising the legs on a pillow. You can also drink it. For example, morning and evening, pour a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar into a glass of water (rinse your mouth after drinking this mixture to avoid enamel erosion due to the acidity of the vinegar).
2 – OLIVE OIL
If medicinal plants are effective treatments against varicose veins, it is mainly because they improve blood circulation. However, a simple massage with olive oil stimulates blood circulation and reduces inflammation as well as the sensation of pain.
How to do ?
Mix equal parts olive oil and vitamin E oil. Heat slightly, then massage the varicose veins with this hot oil for several minutes. Repeat this treatment twice a day for 1 to 2 months.
If you don’t have vitamin E oil, you can also mix 4 drops of cypress essential oil in 2 teaspoons of warm olive oil.
Massage this mixture onto the affected area.
3 – PARSLEY, ANOTHER OF THOSE NATURAL REMEDIES FOR EVERYONE AGAINST VARICOSE VEINS
Its richness in vitamin C makes it an excellent antioxidant. In addition, it promotes the production of collagen important for the health of our cells and its rutoside strengthens capillary vessels. Of course, you can eat it more regularly, but you can also apply it as a local treatment!
To do this, boil a handful of chopped fresh parsley in 250 ml of water for 5 minutes. Leave to cool then filter. Put the mixture in the fridge for several minutes. Next, take cotton and apply the mixture on the affected area. Repeat several times a day daily over several weeks. For greater effectiveness, do not hesitate to add 1 drop of rose essential oil and 1 drop of marigold macerate (Calendula officinalis) to the mixture when it has cooled.
4 – LAUREL SAUCE (OR NOBLE LAUREL)
