Jamaican Pineapple Upside-Down Cake

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a 9-inch round cake pan, pour melted butter and sprinkle evenly with brown sugar. Arrange pineapple slices to cover the bottom. Place a cherry in the center of each pineapple ring.
In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
In another bowl, beat granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla until smooth. Gradually add dry ingredients, alternating with pineapple juice, and beat until smooth.
Pour batter over the pineapple layer in the cake pan.
Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then invert onto a serving plate.
