Christmas Baklava Recipe for The Perfect Holiday

Top the last layer of nuts with the reserved phyllo sheets, brushing each one with melted butter.
Using a sharp knife, cut the baklava into diamond or square-shaped pieces. Be sure to cut through all the layers.
Bake in the preheated oven for 45-55 minutes or until golden brown.
Prepare the Syrup:
While the baklava is baking, combine sugar, honey, water, cinnamon stick, whole cloves, and orange peel (if using) in a saucepan. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 15-20 minutes.
Remove the syrup from heat and let it cool. Remove the cinnamon stick, cloves, and orange peel.
Finish and Serve:
Once the baklava is done baking, remove it from the oven and immediately pour the cooled syrup evenly over the hot baklava.
Allow the baklava to cool completely before serving. This allows the syrup to be absorbed.
Serve the Christmas Baklava on a festive platter and enjoy!
This rich and sweet dessert is a wonderful addition to your Christmas celebration. The combination of crunchy phyllo, sweet nut filling, and aromatic syrup makes it a crowd-pleaser.
