Ingredients:

250ml (1 cup) milk
7g dry yeast
1 egg
30g (2 tbsp) sugar
450g (3 ¼ cups) flour
1 tsp salt
50g (3 tbsp) butter
Granulated sugar for coating
Step-by-Step Instructions:

1. Activate the Yeast:

In a small bowl, warm the milk until it reaches about 110°F (43°C), ensuring it’s not too hot to kill the yeast.
Stir in the dry yeast and a pinch of sugar. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy and activated.
2. Prepare the Dough:

In a large mixing bowl, combine the activated yeast mixture with the remaining sugar and beaten egg.
Gradually add the flour and salt, stirring until a shaggy dough forms.
3. Knead and Rest the Dough:

Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm, draft-free place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
