Pizza Margherita

Craving a slice of pure Italian bliss? Discover the art of Pizza Margherita—a timeless classic that celebrates simplicity and flavor in every bite!

Ingredients:

1 pizza dough (homemade or store-bought)

1/2 cup tomato sauce (passata or crushed tomatoes)

1 1/2 cups fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced or torn

Fresh basil leaves

Extra-virgin olive oil

Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:
Preheat your oven to the highest temperature it can reach (usually around 500°F or 260°C). If you have a pizza stone, place it in the oven while preheating.

Roll out your pizza dough on a floured surface into a round or rectangular shape, depending on your preference.

Transfer the rolled-out dough to a pizza peel or an inverted baking sheet dusted with cornmeal or flour. This will make it easier to slide the pizza onto the hot oven surface.

Spread a generous layer of tomato sauce evenly over the pizza dough, leaving a border for the crust.

Arrange the fresh mozzarella cheese slices or torn pieces over the sauce.

Tear fresh basil leaves and scatter them across the pizza.
