Slow Cooker Teriyaki Chicken

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Chicken:
    • Place the chicken in the crockpot.
  2. Make the Teriyaki Sauce:
    • In a medium bowl, mix together brown sugar, soy sauce, cider vinegar, ground ginger, minced garlic, and pepper.
    • Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken in the crockpot.
  3. Cook the Chicken:
    • Cover and cook on low for 4-5 hours, or until the chicken is cooked through and tender.
  4. Prepare the Sauce:
    • Remove the chicken from the crockpot and chop it into cubes. Set aside.
    • Strain the cooking liquid into a skillet and bring it to a boil over medium heat.
  5. Thicken the Sauce:
    • In a small bowl, whisk together cornstarch and water until smooth.
    • Slowly add the cornstarch mixture to the boiling liquid, stirring continuously.
    • Reduce the heat to a simmer and cook until the sauce thickens, about 2-3 minutes.
  6. Combine and Serve:
    • Add the chopped chicken back into the skillet with the thickened sauce.
    • Toss the chicken to coat it evenly with the sauce and heat through.
