Flaky Apple Pie Bars Recipe

Ingredients:

9 peeled, cored, and sliced apples
2½ cups all-purpose flour
½ cup milk
2 egg yolks

2 egg whites

2 tablespoons white sugar

1 cup shortening

¾ cup white sugar

½ teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon ground cinnamon

For the icing:

1 ½ cups powdered sugar

Dash of salt

3 tablespoons milk

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions:

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch pan.

Mix flour, 2 tbsp sugar, and salt in a bowl. Cut in shortening until crumbly. Blend egg yolks with 1/2 cup milk and add to the flour mixture.
